A Secret Love

This weekend, to celebrate 4 years in business, Evernight Publishing are taking 50% off all eBooks. The discount is applied at the check-out. And yes, that really is 50% off everything on their website.

My short story, A Secret Love was released by Evernight last July and it's a story I'm really proud of. Usually priced at $2.99, this weekend you'll be able to get it for $1.49. Check out the blurb below. You can read an excerpt over on Evernight's website!

James is nervous when he pulls into the car park of the secluded and conservative Caledonian Hotel. He slips off his wedding ring, gives a false name at reception and checks into his room.

When Mark finally arrives James expects their time together to conform to the usual pattern, but Mark surprises him. Mark wants candlelit dinners and walks on the beach. James, well, James just wants to make up for lost time. More importantly, he doesn’t want to get caught. They have six months left before they can leave behind everything they know and start a new life together and James is desperate to be discrete. Unfortunately, he never could control himself around Mark. Throw in an interfering old couple and some very public displays of affection and Mark and James’s short hotel stay might just be about to destroy not only the secrecy that has always shrouded their relationship, but also their plans for a future together.

A Secret Love - FIFTY PERCENT DISCOUNT!

Hello everyone!

Now, I don't know about you, but I for one am very glad that it's the weekend. I've had a long week, my partner even more so and we're both feeling it. Normally, our weekends are an excuse to get out and do some exploring. Neither of us is very good at sitting still, but this weekend I'm afraid that's exactly what we're going to do.

It's cold, it's raining, it's generally dreich and miserable outside and I fancy staking my claim for the sofa with my Kindle, a big mug of Yorkshire's finest, and said partner for company. Hell, I might even stick the fire on (although it is only October so that might be excessive – there's still a long winter ahead!)

My TBR list is getting out of control and that's something I'm looking forward to addressing this weekend BUT, there might be a fly about to land in that ointment. You see...

Evernight Publishing are celebrating four years in business by taking 50% off all eBooks on their website. Trust me, that's a lot of books, a lot of options, and a lot of interesting places and characters to spend your weekend with!

The discount is applied at the check-out so if there's anything you've had your eye on for a while this really would be a great time to get it and get some serious reading done this weekend.

Have a good one wherever you are!

Tamsin Baker - Prowling The Vet

Today, I welcome Tamsin Baker back to the blog! Tamsin recently stopped by to talk about her MM release, Getting A Raise.

Today she's here to share with us her new release, Prowling The Vet, an MFM shifter erotic romance available now through Evernight Publishing. Check out the blurb below, and a cheeky excerpt below that (and I warn you now kids, this is one very cheeky excerpt!)

Thanks for stopping by again Tamsin!

Blurb
Laura is a veterinarian in a country town near the spectacular Canadian Rocky Mountains. She's intelligent, beautiful, over-sized, and not interested in a relationship with any man. When she literally gets knocked off her feet by a pair of twins, she's horrified to find she can't resist the attraction.

Brandon and Tyler have been waiting for their perfect mate since they were teenagers. Brandon's buried himself in alcohol and women, but Tyler's so lonely it hurts. When they meet the voluptuous Laura they must pull together to win the heart of their fated mate, and prove why a Perfect Pair of mountain lion shifters are exactly what she needs.

Excerpt

Laura giggled with excitement and moved up onto the huge bed so that she lay with her head on the pillow. She was really going to do this—go to bed with two men, and brothers at that!

“Are you two going to join me or just stand there staring?”

The men looked between each other before they crawled onto the bed, Brandon sliding over her and using his knee to spread her legs.

“Open for me.”

She lifted her legs and wrapped them around his still denim-clad ass. Heat pooled between her thighs as he took control of the situation. She hated to admit it, but she kinda’ loved it.

He kissed her lips and she reached up for his head, dragging him down so that his chest was flat against her breasts. Tingles flared between them as his tongue speared into her mouth, a groan escaping his lips when he tasted her.

“I’ll squash you,” he said against her lips and Laura laughed a little.

“You’re kidding. I love the feel of your weight on me.”

She pressed on his back and encouraged him to lay more on her.

He slowly released some of the weight he held on his arms and let it sink onto her.

A contented bliss settled over her and she sighed. “Yes.”

Brandon moaned and dove down to her neck, biting and sucking the skin along her throat, and moving down.

Laura closed her eyes and let embarrassing noises escape her, as Brandon’s mouth seared a path of heat and pleasure down her body. She ran her hands through Brandon’s short hair, touching him as much as possible as he made his way toward her breasts.

His wet lips slid over her flesh as he cupped one of her breasts with both of his massive hands and plumped it up for his mouth. The kneading sensation was comforting and arousing at the same time, and Laura opened her eyes to watch him enjoying her flesh.

He sucked the nipple into his mouth and she cried out, pleasure shooting down her belly to center between her legs. He suckled her over and over, then moved back onto his haunches to stare down at her.

Laura made some sort of pleading noise that left her mouth without her permission, and reached out for him with both hands.

“Come back, please.” She needed his heat and weight on her.

“No, it’s my turn.” Tyler muscled his brother out of the way and reached up to pull her undies down her legs.

Laura let him, impatient for more. It had been so long since she’d been touched by anything other than her vibrating toys.

“Wow, you’re even beautiful here.” Tyler ran his soft fingertips over her sensitive clit and down between her folds, making Laura’s whole body buck up, and she gasped out a huffy response.

“That’s impossible, but thanks.”

She wasn’t waxed or overly concerned about keeping that part of herself manicured. She didn’t have time or the inclination to be pretty for only herself. Now she was thinking maybe she should have.

Brandon moved so that he was shoulder to shoulder with his brother and stared down at her.

You’ve got to be kidding me!

Laura tried to close her legs, but Tyler held them wide open.
Brandon shook his head and chuckled.

Laura didn’t like that at all.

“Don’t laugh at me.” She sat up and tried to twist away from them.

Brandon fell forward and pinned her back on the bed, moving onto his side and cupping her mound with his hand.

Laura turned her head away and Brandon chuckled again, his lips moving to her ear.

“I keep waiting for something about you to turn me off, but you have the best looking cunt I have ever seen.”

Laura hissed and turned her face around to glare at Brandon, but it didn’t stop him talking.

“You do. It’s a beautiful pink, the lips are symmetrical, and it has the most inviting slit I have…ever…” Brandon pressed two long fingers to her opening and she titled her hips up to let him in.

Welcome back Raven McAllan!

Today I welcome back one of my favourite ladies, the lovely Raven McAllan.

Raven's been a very busy bee lately and she has lots of new stories to share with us all, but today, she's here to tell us all about where she sets her stories. The floor is yours, R!

Yes it's me again. My blog visits are similar to my releases (strange that, eh? snigger), in that they follow the big red bus syndrome. None for ages then lots together.

But, hey, hopefully I don't go on about the same things all the time, so as in the words of the song, 'let me entertain you'. I'll add—I hope, and you won't roll your eyes and say 'oh her again'.

Generally, I'm very much a pantster, and go where my characters tell me. I'm often deliberately vague in describing their features, and go no further than tall, fair hair, grey eyes, slim, or whatever. I tend not to have one specific 'real life' person in mind when I write. I started to do this, when I wrote a book a couple of years ago, and suggested a specific type of hero the cover. I described him in great detail and a friend told me I'd totally spoiled the story, because he shouldn't look like that. That she liked to envisage him her way. I though about it and realized, with the characters, I was the same. After all if a hero is described as a so and so look alike, and the reader detests that person, they're not likely to read the book. I accept not everyone will agree with me, so no rotten tomato throwing! If you want to throw anything my way, Moet and Chandon and chocolate is much appreciated.

The one thing I do make sure I get right, unless there's a good reason not to is the setting. I have been known to utter very naughty, I need to wash my mouth out, words when I read a book that has the geography upside down. When I know darn well city 'A' is north of mountain 'B', and the book begs to digger, well sadly, that book goes onto my did not finish pile. It doesn't matter if it was, until then, the best thing since tasty gluten free bread, it's spoiled.

I don't mean the odd house I've moved to a new location, or the house that actually doesn't exist, that's okay. After all, do my neighbours really need people knocking on their door, because someone has read about it in a book?

But topography? That's different.

It's the same with historical facts. History books, the net, maps, all are easily accessed these days, and hey, they usually know what they are talking about. There's no excuse for getting basics wrong. Someone will always notice. I well remembering as a very new newbie arguing the toss over a word I knew fine well wasn't used in Regency times. I lost, and boy was I lambasted by several readers.

Accuracy matters.

And on that note, Raven must leave us to go tend to her new releases, but she'll be back tomorrow to share some info. on the latest release of her choice! You can find out more about Raven's new stories on the links below.

Iyana Jenna - A Second Chance

Today, I welcome back to my blog Iyana Jenna. :-)

Iyana's here to tell us all about her new M/M short story A Second Chance which is available from all good Ebook retailers now.

Check out the blurb and a cheeky excerpt, below!

Chance Devereux and Ryder Adkins have worked on the same TV series for three years and share a house near the set. Yet Chance can only watch from afar when Ryder gets engaged. Even though Chance is still deep in the closet, he can't help be jealous.

Since the first day of shooting, Ryder has had his sights on his costar, but Chance has a girlfriend and Ryder thinks Chance is straight. After years without a concrete result, Ryder decides to forget his desire to be with Chance and go back to Mike.

During a hiatus, Chance does an interview with journalist, Sebastian Vanderbilt. Sebastian opens Chance's eyes, and he decides he needs to make Ryder his. Can they work it out, or  are they all out of retakes?

Be Warned: m/m sex !

Excerpt
Without waiting for Mike’s answer, he slid his phone open and scrolled down to Chance’s number. Ryder glanced briefly at Mike, who simply nodded and turned away to give him a semblance of privacy. Ryder turned his attention back to the call he was making and nearly jerked in anticipation when it was answered.

“Hey. Chance, it’s—”

“I’m sorry, but Chance can’t answer the phone right now.”

Ryder’s eyes bulged. Taken aback, he swallowed. “W-what? Who is this?”

“May I ask who’s speaking, please?”

“It’s, uh, Ryder. I’m his, his best friend—”

“Oh, Ryder. Sure.”

Ryder lifted an eyebrow when the man laughed a little.
“Chance talks a lot about you,” the man went on.

“Thanks, but….” Ryder’s eyes flickered to Mike, who was observing him closely. His mind began to wander to places he didn’t want to go. How could he not? The man had Chance’s cell. “Where is he? Do you mind if I talk to him?”

“No, of course not.” The man sighed. “But he really can’t.”

“What? What happened? What have you done to him?”

“Whoa, wait a second. I’ve done nothing to him. But he’s asleep right now. He hasn’t been able to sleep for some time. He’s been in so much pain he couldn’t even rest.”

Ryder slumped in his seat, rubbing his face. “Oh, God.” Mike had been right. Feeling lightheaded, Ryder whispered into the mouthpiece. “What’s wrong with him? God, is he okay now?”

“Yeah, I truly hope so. He’s much calmer now. He caught a stomach bug a couple of days ago.”

“And you’re—you’re Sebastian, right? Sebastian Vanderbilt? I saw the pictures.”

“That’s me. Oh, and Ryder?”

“Yes?”

“I heard about your engagement. Congratulations, man.”

“Well, I don’t—”

“Hey, look,” Sebastian cut him off. “I’d love to talk to you, but I really have to go. I’ll tell Chance that you called, okay?”

“Wait, Sebastian. I’m just… you know, I—” But it was too late. Sebastian had hung up. Sucking in a breath, Ryder could only gawk in disbelief.

****

Sebastian didn’t know for sure why he felt reluctant to talk to Ryder. He had no reason to feel threatened by him, though if the way Chance talked about Ryder in the interview was anything to go by, Sebastian might have to consider how he felt toward the guy. This was such a new thing for him, feeling insecure. He wasn’t that kind of guy. Sebastian wondered what Chance had done to him.

Back in the guestroom where Chance was resting, Sebastian found him awake. Chance’s gaze wandered, his expression half-studying his surroundings, half-wondering how or why he was there in the first place. He turned to Sebastian only when he heard him clear his throat. Warmth surged in Sebastian’s heart at the fleeting blush on Chance’s freckled face. He wondered what Chance thought about the room. Sebastian loved his place, but perhaps it was childish to want to hear what Chance had to say about it.

Sebastian went to sit next to Chance, reaching out to feel his brow.

Chance groaned, shying away. “I’m not a child, Sebastian.”

“No.” Sebastian smiled. “But you gave me quite a scare.”

“Sorry.” Chance looked down.

“Hey, that’s not your fault. You were sick and obviously you hadn’t fully recovered when you left the hospital. How are you feeling now?”

“Much better.” Chance licked his lips.

“Water?”

“Please.”

Sebastian watched Chance drink slowly, and when he pulled back, some drips still clung to his lower lip. Sebastian knew he’d been staring, and he completely ignored the glass shoved back into his palm. Finally, he chuckled, put the glass away on the nightstand, and took off his shirt.

Chance’s eyes widened before they darkened a bit.

“May I?” Sebastian gestured toward a space on Chance’s huge, fluffy pillow.

Chance shifted a little to give him more room, much to his delight. He slipped under the cover and could feel Chance stiffen slightly. His face—mere inches from Sebastian’s—was taut before he relaxed and snuggled into Sebastian’s bare chest. Chance’s body felt sleep warm under his thin T-shirt, and Sebastian braved Chance’s reaction and slid a hand under it. He palmed Chance’s flat abs and up to his muscled torso, sighing appreciatively at the deep moan wrenched out of Chance’s throat.

“Beautiful,” Sebastian said huskily. “Very beautiful.” He tweaked a nipple and was rewarded with the stretched column of Chance’s smooth neck as he threw his head back, lips parting, his guttural growl sending Sebastian’s blood to his groin.

About The Author

Iyana writes M/M short stories and novellas. Her works have been published by Evernight Publishing, JMS Books, Books to Go Now, Torquere Press, Bitten Press, Leap of Faith Publishing, Breathless Press, and Alfie Dog Fiction.

Iyana lives in Jakarta, a city famous for its traffic jams, a lot of cars and motorcycles, and people selling stuff on the roads. You can spend two hours on the road going to a place you can reach in half an hour in a normal situation. Thanks to the traffic jams, though, Iyana can come up with a lot of stories, mostly shorties, as she prefers to spend the time during her trips writing into her cell phone rather than sleeping.

Another thing Iyana loves is kitties. Right now she has three of them. Their names are Cil, Horus, and Betsy, and one kitten. When she doesn’t write, she plays with them, or they would play with her when she writes.
